One in ten children and young people aged 5 to 16 have a clinically diagnosed mental health disorder and around one in seven has less severe problems.
As a school we try and support all of our young people. As part of this provision we would like to offer parents/carers the opportunity to come and receive some training on supporting your child with mental health concerns.
Our lead mental health first aider, Helen Oldroyd, will lead a one hour session to offer advice and give some practical tools to help parents/carers promote positive mental health in their child and address less severe problems at an early stage to build resilience.
The Mental Health Parent Council meeting will be held at Park Lane on Monday 30th January 6pm until 7pm. All parents are welcome and refreshments will be available. Whilst you are welcome to just turn up on the evening we would be grateful if you could contact the school on 01422 362215 prior to the event so we have an idea of numbers attending.
