Last Week, representatives from over 20 local businesses and organisations including Cummins Turbo Technologies, The University of Huddersfield and Nestle visited Park Lane Learning Trust and met students to discuss courses, training and career opportunities on offer within their organisation.
Throughout the morning, students visited each stand to discuss with representatives about their possible future career choices. Students were asked to think about which stands might relate to the educational options they might consider after leaving Park Lane Learning Trust. This could be College, sixth form or apprenticeships.
The organisations being represented at our careers convention varied from local companies and institutions such as Calderdale College and West Yorkshire Police to large multi-national corporations such as Nestle and Cummins Turbo Technologies.
The students had the opportunity to take part in some interactive stands from Askham Bryan College by getting close to some members of the animal and insect world! While the Institution of Engineering and Technology allowed students to gain an insight in to the world of engineering.
Everyone at Park Lane Learning Trust would like to thank each organisation which joined us for the annual Careers Convention; we are sure the students found the input given very useful. We look forward to welcoming you in 2017.
